Hi, I’m Linda Browne.
I’m an LGBTQ+ writer of middle grade and YA fiction, especially historical fiction and fantasy.
I’m currently working on a YA-crossover manuscript that I plan to indie publish after releasing it as a serial on Wattpad.
I’ve recently completed a middle grade steampunk novel called Shadow Apprentice and am actively seeking agent representation for this book. (An earlier excerpt from this manuscript longlisted in CANSCAIP’s 2020 Writing for Children Competition.)
My first novel, The Land Between, a middle grade time travel adventure, was longlisted for the 2017 Times Chicken House Children’s Fiction Competition.
My creative non-fiction article, The Murakami Method: Re-writing Long COVID, will be published in the anthology Bad Artist: Essays on Unconventional Creativity (2023).
Each month, we feature:
- board books, picture books, beginning readers, middle grade novels and graphic novels
- a unique picture book review panel – a children’s writer (me), a literacy tutor and an early childhood educator
- constructively critical reviews
- a widely diverse selection of books for all kids and the adults who care for them
I profile my container-grown food gardens and post random writerly thoughts on Instagram.
I am a current member of CANSCAIP, SCBWI and ALLi: The Alliance of Independent Authors.
Thanks for stopping by!
