Hi, I’m Linda Browne.
I’m an LGBTQ+ writer of mostly middle grade fiction, especially historical fiction and fantasy.
I’ve recently completed a middle grade steampunk novel called Shadow Apprentice and am actively looking for agent representation. An earlier excerpt from this manuscript longlisted in CANSCAIP’s 2020 Writing for Children Competition.
My first novel, The Land Between, a middle grade time travel adventure, was longlisted for the 2017 Times Chicken House Children’s Fiction Competition.
My creative non-fiction article, The Murakami Method: Re-writing Long COVID, will be published in the anthology Bad Artist: Essays on Unconventional Creativity (2023).
Each month, we feature:
- board books, picture books, beginning readers, middle grade novels and graphic novels
- a unique picture book review panel – a children’s writer (me), a literacy tutor and an early childhood educator
- constructively critical reviews
- a widely diverse selection of books for all kids and the adults who care for them
I profile my container-grown food gardens and post random writerly thoughts on Instagram.
I am a current member of both CANSCAIP and SCBWI.
Thanks for stopping by!
